This happened to me. I had a 1978 Monte Carlo, in which I often napped. After a grueling night of typing a research paper, I fell asleep before my shift at my job. A campus police officer named Cal knocked on my window and sternly told me to crack my windows, if I were to nap on his shift. Boring story is below. If a task is particularly unpleasant, I can be quite the procrastinator. My history professor instructed us to prepare a ten page report on two similar but conflicting cultures. The result had to be typed and double spaced. The year was 1989. Using the encyclopedia set and other research tools that my dad purchased, as well as sources provided from the local library – go Dewey Decimal System
I had twenty five pages of handwritten material, which barely translates to ten typed pages. I thoroughly enjoyed researching and writing the paper. Did I enjoy typing it out? No, not at all. I spent the night before the paper was due fighting with this archaic machine known as a typewriter. The backspace button was accompanied by a white ribbon that erased a letter that was typed in error. I was fortunate that it didn’t run out. I finished typing the paper at 430 a.m. on the day the assignment was due. I submitted my report and returned to my car.
